VDOT fixes thousands of potholes across commonwealth
Virginia Department of Transportation crews have patched, repaired or filled more than 43-thousand potholes throughout the commonwealth since kicking off its pothole blitz on March 1st. Governor Bob McDonnell had directed VDOT to focus efforts on patching the thousands of potholes resulting from the harsh winter weather and VDOT crews have worked day and night to address the problem. The governor says potholes create more than bumpy rides for motorists -- they are roadway hazards and VDOT has made great strides in addressing them.
