Perrymont Elementary School will remain open under the official budget proposal from Lynchburg School Superintendent Dr. Paul McKendrick. Earlier this month McKendrick had recommendend closing the school. His budget proposal still calls for the Hutcherson Early Learning Center to close. It also eliminates 111 positions and middle school sports. The school board will hold a public hearing on the proposed budget next Tuesday. The school board faces an 8.7 million dollar shortfall.
