Lynchburg authorities have released the name of the man who was killed in a house fire on Cabell Street Tuesday night. Neighbors are remembering 66-year-old James Edward Bayes as a father figure in the neighborhood. The home he had rented for years was destroyed by fire Tuesday night and Bayes was unable to escape. Fire officials believe the fire was accidental and started at the front of the house.
