School board weighs options for overcrowding

The Bedford County school board is looking ahead to ease overcrowding at Forest Middle School. Options include building a new middle school in the New London area – or expanding the current school. The school board has hired a Roanoke construction company to study the school system’s facilities and help decide which capital improvement projects to take on next. Two most recent projects – renovations at Jefferson Forest and Staunton River High Schools – will be completed this fall.
