Planners consider "Big Box" ordinance

The Lynchburg Planning commission held a second meeting yesterday to consider a proposed big-box ordinance -- requiring more regulation for stores bigger than 50-thousand square feet. Developers say the ordinance can’t be too restrictive or it will discourage growth in Lynchburg. The panel is reviewing how other places in Virginia have handled the same situation. They plan on holding a public hearing on the issue before making a recommendation to City Council.
